SECRET BUFFALO BOOK LAUNCH WITH ELIZABETH LICATA
Why Buffalo? is a question asked frequently of folks who make their home here. In Secret Buffalo: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure, Buffalo Spree editor Elizabeth Licata provides a load of clues. The ‘secrets’ disclosed here aren’t really secrets at all, just underappreciated or lesser-known reasons why this place is regarded as special by so many of its residents. Most of the ‘secrets’ are hiding in plain sight; they answer the better question: Why not Buffalo?
Talking Leaves…Books is hosting a virtual zoom event, and, weather permitting, a live book signing to introduce this book and its author, herself a Buffalo secret. Join us on April 22 at 4:30 for a zoom talk with Elizabeth, https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86021613261, followed at 5 p.m. by a book signing on the patio in front of the store at 951 Elmwood. Masks and social distancing are required for those attending the signing. The bookstore will be open as usual until 6 pm, with a maximum of nine persons inside at a time, wearing masks and observing social distancing protocols. In order to allow more people to visit the store during this hour, in store visits will be limited to 15 minutes per customer. Books will be available for purchase from Talking Leaves in the store and on the web at https://www.tleavesbooks.com/book/9781681062594 .
Join us on zoom or at the store. Listen to Elizabeth, buy a copy of the book, and uncover the secrets of a city you thought you knew, or be enticed to visit and explore a place you had previously avoided.
