Pat Zietlow Miller has published 20 picture books and has more on the way. Her first book, Sophie's Squash, won the Golden Kite Award, an Ezra Jack Keats New Writer Honor, and a Charlotte Zolotow Honor. Be Kind was on the New York Times bestseller list for 10 weeks, and In Our Garden was a Dolly Parton Imagination Library selection. Pat lives in Wisconsin. Chrystal D. Giles is a champion for diversity and representation in children’s literature. Chrystal made her debut with Take Back the Block, which received multiple starred reviews, was a Kirkus Reviews, School Library Journal, and an NPR Best Book. Her latest middle-grade novel, Not An Easy Winwhich has already received multiple starred reviews is available now. Chrystal lives outside Charlotte, North Carolina, with her husband and son. Rhonda Roumani is a Syrian-American journalist who has written about Islam, the Arab world and Muslim-American issues for more than two decades. Her first middle grade novel, Tagging Freedom, about a Syrian graffiti artist, is scheduled to be released on Nov. 7, 2023 with Union Square & Co.; her first nonfiction picture book, Umm Kulthum, Star of the East, will be released in 2024 with Interlink Publishing; and a picture book titled Insha’Allah, No, Maybe So will be released by Holiday House in Summer 2024. Jessica Vitalis is a Columbia MBA-wielding writer and presenter with Greenwillow/HarperCollins. Her work has been translated into three languages, and she was a 2021 Canada Council of the Arts grant recipient and featured on CBC’s Here and Now and CTV’s Your MorningThe Wolf’s Curse and a standalone companion novel, The Rabbit’s Gift (which received a School Library Journal starred review and was named a Canadian Children’s Book Center’s Best Book for Kids and Teens 2023), are out now with Greenwillow/HarperCollins. Her next book, Coyote Queen, arrives on 10/10/23 (and has already received a Kirkus starred review) and a novel in free verse will follow in the fall of 2024.
