Dan McCloskey & Elwin Cotman, The Elvenslaughter 2010

Dan McCloskey and Elwin Cotman, young writers affiliated with the Pittsburgh Cyberpunk Apocalypse Writers’ Co-op, are bringing their joint reading tour, “The Elvenslaughter 2010” to Buffalo on Wednesday, April 28, with a stop at the Main Street store of Talking Leaves…Books at 7 pm. The tour will also be going to Washington, DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, Ithaca, Cleveland, Athens, Columbus, Bloomington, Chicago, Madison and Cincinnati. The authors will read from and discuss their recent fiction. The event is free and open to the public. Books by the authors will be available for purchase.

At the age of 20, Daniel McCloskey graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in fiction writing. At the age of 21 he founded the Cyberpunk Apocalypse Writers' Co-op, which combines a writing residency program and a community space in order to support burgeoning writers. He currently resides at the Cyberpunk Apocalypse Writers' Co-op where he works to maintain the project, polish his first novel, and does freelance work. He will be reading from his novel, A Film About Billy.

Elwin Cotman is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His work has been published in The Fairfield Review, Outsider Ink, the Writers on the Green Line Anthology, the Cyberpunk Apocalypse zine and The Dirty Napkin. He is currently a member of the Cyberpunk Apocalypse writers collective in Pittsburgh. In 2008 he wrote a story/liner notes for an album by piano-punk band Baby Killer Estelle. A veteran of the DC open mic scene, he has performed collaborative pieces with Joy Tojours and Brian Depuy of Jubilee. The Jack Daniels Sessions EP is his first short story collection.

The Jack Daniels Sessions EP is a collection of urban and dark fantasy stories, several of which are based on the folklore and social climate of the segregated south. A Film About Billy is a coming of age story/science fiction novel about a suicide epidemic, told in both prose and comic book form.
