Two years ago Talking Leaves hosted a book signing for cartoonist Steve Delmonte’s first collection, Pocket Full of Fun. We had so much fun that Mr. Delmonte decided to put together another collection of cartoons and reprise the event for those who missed it. We’ll celebrate the publication of the new book, It’s Just Business, at Talking Leaves…Elmwood, on Friday evening, March 18, at 7 pm. Copies of the book will be available for purchase, and Mr. Delmonte will be on hand to autograph them, and maybe draw a few pictures, too.
There is no admission charge.

The new collection, It’s Just Business, focuses on cartoons dealing with the eternally funny subject of business. Mr. Delmonte, currently self-employed, nonetheless manages to capture those crazy moments we all know from experience or years of watching movies and television and reading fiction. Everyone's had that demanding boss, that wacky supervisor or, like Steve, that project that was torn up in front of him. It's time to laugh about it. Some readers will groan, some will display a slight curl of the mouth, some will guffaw with abandon, but all will recognize some indelible part of contemporary work life.

Steve Delmonte has been a cartoonist and humorous illustrator for over 30 years. His work has appeared in magazines (Barron’s, Family Circle, Woman’s World, First for Women, Reader’s Digest, Scholastic, and Ebony, among others), textbooks, ads and greeting cards, and has been displayed or sold internationally in Canada, Korea, England, Wales and Italy. He lives with his family in Buffalo.
